Eco Friendly Homesteaders

I would like to let you in on a little information about my life. I live on a 3 acre mini homestead in West Virginia with my wife Sherry, and our five year old son Hunter.

We currently raise  over half of our food which is about 90% heirloom plants in which we start from seeds. We also raise Rhode Island Reds, Dominique chickens, Khaki Campbell ducks,and Silver Fox rabbits which are all heritage breeds. We also raise and sell pigs to people in our community. We grow a well sized garden, can our bounty from the garden, and heat our home with a wood stove.

My wife makes homemade lye soaps, body products, soy candles, and crafts which are all natural and Eco friendly in our home. We have two pet dogs that live on our homestead; one is a Great Perynees named Snowbear, and a Pomeranian named Foxy.

Getting to gather fresh eggs everyday, supplying natural vegies, and fruits, raising live stock is fun and rewarding for the our whole family, and a helping hand to mother nature !
